How to Turn off Firefox Go Button

If you always press "Enter" after entering a URL into your address bar, you may want to consider removing the "Go" button next to it. Removing the "Go" button from Firefox results in a less cluttered Firefox toolbar and a bigger address bar with which to work. The “Go” button in Firefox is rarely used and takes up space on the screen, although not all that much. If you want, you can easily disable it to give your address bar more room.
Notice the little green useless button on the right side.

Steps to Follow

  • Just type in about:config into the address bar,
  • Filter by the value: browser.urlbar.hideGoButton

  • Double-click on the value in the list to change it to true.
  • The green button should instantly disappear, as you can see in the screenshot.
