.Once you have installed the autoHideStatusbar add-on, you will see that your Firefo statusbar has been hidden. The Firefox window would look something like this :

.If you want the statusbar to appear again, then you can hover the mouse cursor over the usual statusbar region. You can also press the hotkey Ctrl + Alt + U to make the statusbar appear.
.You can access the autoHideStatusbar add-on preferences from Firefox menubar Tools → Add-ons → Extensions. In the prefernces window, you can choose to enable or disable the add-on and when to show the statusbar (like when hovering over a link, downloading a file or a pge is loading etc.)
.If you have a particular website where you would like to have the statusbar always display, then you can add the URL here in the AHS Filters section as shown.

The autoHideStatusbar add-on for Firefox can fulfill the needs of a person who is looking forward to have a Chrome's statusbar like auto-hiding statusbar in Mozilla Firefox. It not only works for Firefox browser but also in Thunderbird email client and the Flock browser.
